User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars 16G Sony memory stick
The product arrived on schedule and I was able to use it the same evening – it works as expected in both Cybershot and camcorder – saves LOADS of transfer time and adds flexibility to how long i can shoot video or stills without worrying about memory!

5 Stars Memory stick
It was very easy to purchase this product besides been so cheap. I had questions they were answer very promptly.

5 Stars Memory Stick PRO Duo – 16GB
16 GB is becoming more necessary with HD quailty videos, burst shots, etc. By having the extra memory, there’s less need for additional storage options.

Some complain about Sony’s proprietary Memory Stick as being “pricey”. Perhaps, but it is small, extremely reliable, and for me, worth the money. Incidentally, I paid less for the 16GB stick than I paid for a 1 or 2 version several years ago.

Definitely worth the costs when you’ll use it over and over for years.

3 Stars More memory, slow to load
This is a good memory stick, simply because it has a lot more space. But this 8gb card takes so much more time to load than a card with less memory. I purchased this card for a Sony Cybershot camera, and it takes about 30 seconds to load. When you are trying to capture a special moment, you’ll miss it waiting that 30 seconds for the card to load and for the camera to be ready to take a picture.

5 Stars Works with my cybershot
This memory stick works with my Sony Cybershot. That’s what I needed it to do. Now I can take photos. I don’t know what else there is to review on something like this.

5 Stars Great camera.
This camera is great and really easy to use. The software that comes with it is pretty intimidating, but I only point-and-shoot then upload. Great zoom and quality pictures.

5 Stars Small Excellent camera for indoor and outdoor pictures
I had Canon SD450(5.1 Mega Pixel) camera earlier and it was getting old. So I was looking for replacement for a reasonable price. I think SD890IS is good find for 10Meg Pixel and 5X optical zoom. On our recent California and Nevada trip I used this camera for all time. In Disneyland it captured motion perfectly in background which I had issue in my old Canon camera. I am impress with photo click in night mode in LV. It was fun to carry to camera in your pocket. I will recommend anyone to buy big size SD card so that you can click/capture video for 3-4 days without any problem

Pros:

1) Small size

2) Long bettery life

3) Faster clicking compare to my earlier canon camera

4) Motion capturing

5) High resolution

6) 2.5 inch LCD viewfinder.

7) 5X optical zoom. I had 3X in old one. More is better in this case but large may increase the weight. So I think 5X is good enough to take indoor and outdoor pictures for any roadtrip.

8)Canon. Why because most of the people wherever we visted in CA and NV they were using Canon. I did not had to educate them on how to operate this camera. Its easy right.

Cons:

1) I had hard time clicking ON and OFF this camera. May be they go to make little soft button for ON/OFF switch

2) This camera is little wider and bigger then old one. I thought as technology grows they should make slim cameras.

3) No touchscreen on LCD. I think Canon should have one of this feature like SONY or others are making it.

Overall I found this camera is flawless for such low price. I think its reasonable under this market condition when you can buy camera for less then 200 bucks. Good luck everyone for your shopping.

4 Stars A Significant Flaw
In general I love this camera, however I will send it back and get another model. The on/off switch is a little piece of plastic that is flush with the camera body. I have been using my fingernail to push it. Obviously, it will break, crack, or just be pushed in where it is no longer flush with the body…..Yes, it’s the worst on/off switch I’ve ever seen on what is otherwise a wonderful camera. Canon will have many of these sent in for repair sometime in the future, so they should be prepared…thank you for the opportunity write this review.

5 Stars This is an excellent Camera!!!! Buy it
It captures amazing Photos especially outdoors. Makes sure U read the manual so U can familiarize urself with its working mechanism. The buttons are easy to control, the LCD is 2.5inches across with top-notch clarity. It shoots amazing video in HD(U can use analog zoom in Video unlike most other cameras). If u’re looking for a portable(it fits seamlessly in my pocket) high quality video shooting Point and shoot for ur casual days then buy this camera.

5 Stars Excellent Camera for the price
Does everything I’d like for it to; 5x zoom is great. Optical image stabilizing is a great addition and the price is right!

User Ratings and Reviews

4 Stars Kingston 8 GB SDHC card
I couldn’t use this card as my phone only takes a 4 GB, so they are sending me two fours.

5 Stars Works like a charm
Kingston 8 GB microSDHC Class 4 Flash Memory Card SDC4/8GB

Perfect for storing large amounts of music on your Blackberry Curve.

1 Star D.O.A.
I bought this card to be used in a cell phone. I tried it in the cell phone, my blackberry, a Canon camera, and my PC’s card reader, but none of them would recognize it as a viable drive. It was D.O.A. right out of the package. I probably got one of the small percentage of these devices that are produced with a defect, but I have had good luck with SanDisk so I will return this Kingston card and reorder.

5 Stars Good Value & Great Product
The kingston 4gb. works just as well as the more expensive brands. I use mine in my digital camera, cell phone, and laptop. They are great for pics. and music. I can never have too many. I haven’t have any problems; you just have to format them…not an issue.

5 Stars Works on HTC Fuze
Since most phones now a days except for Sony Ericsson’s use a micro SD card as the expansion slot, this was the best card for the budget. It worked with no hiccups on my new HTC Fuze from at&t. I’ve had it for about a month now and it’s going strong. Never had a write error. Speed seems fine for a pocket PC, although i haven’t compared this to a class 6 memory card.

Bottom line: Good amount of memory for the price.

User Ratings and Reviews

4 Stars Great buy, a few cons
This is my first netbook, and it is, I believe, the best of the bunch.

Pros

great battery life (8 hours or so)

Very light

Looks great

Quick charge

Has webcam+mic

supports up to 2GB RAM

big hard drive

touchpad driver is efficient

excellent keyboard

Cons

shiny top is idiotic, scratches and fingerprints are constant

should have the newest Atom processor, the 1.8GHz N280 instead of the 1.6GHz N270

5400RPM drive is slow

not x86-64 compatible processor

touchpad is tiny and slick, with bad indicators for where the borders are

webcam is mediocre

no wireless-n or bluetooth

overheats easily

speakers are weak

headphone jack is tricky– it screws up the sound unless you pull the plug out of the jack about a dime’s width

no DVD drive

The complaints are easy to ignore but would be great if fixed. I barel didn’t give this product 5 stars. I would say that two or so cons fixed would tip it over the edge. A great buy overall, though. Get the Acer Aspire One Accessory Kit for a good drive. The mouse in the kit fixes all touchpad complaints, and the case prevents too many scratches.

4 Stars As good as expected
I tried an 8.9″ netbook and my fingers (even though I don’t have large hands) just didn’t fit the keyboard comfortably. I took my new Acer Aspire One on a trip and my traveling companion who had purchased the smaller one was very envious of mine because it is so much easier to use and also of the 160 gig hard drive.. I get about 5 hours of battery life with the 6 cell version. I am really pleased about that. The smaller screen is inconvenient with some software but it is okay considering how much easier it is to transport than my full size laptop. I was writing an application with Microsoft Access and it was difficult to see the screens. No regrets.

5 Stars Nice Netbook
It does the job that you want it to do. It’s very convenient for travel and you can take it with you on the roof of your house and chill.

4 Stars Anyone who owns one of these tested the wattage with a Kill-a-Watt Meter?
If so, would you please do me a favor and report the real-world average wattage a 10.1 inch Acer Aspire 0150 pulls during typical use?

I need to know because I live on solar power and my total daily watt hours are limited to 1,100.

My current little laptop, a 2005 Averatec 3700, pulls 28 to 32 watts most of the time. I want to find a zippy netbook with at least 1.5 ghz processor that uses between 12 and 20 watts. And it needs to have a comfortable keyboard. I’m a fast touch typist and need a logical, relatively normal keyboard.

The Dell Mini 10 inch seems to fit some of the bill. I plugged a display model at Best Buy into my Kill-a-Watt and booted the computer and used Windows Media Player and had a hard time getting the computer to draw more than 14 watts and often it was drawing only 12. However, the computer was terribly sluggish. I don’t want a sluggish computer. And the touchpad pointer was not responsive, even after I went into Control Panel and tweaked its settings.

Surprisingly, I can’t find a single Acer 10.1 inch model locally. Have called and walked around to all the likely stores. In fact, am having a hard time finding the 8-inch ones now. They were all over before Christmas.

Did find one 8-inch screen display model at a Wal-Mart and tested it. It seemed quick and responsive. But was shocked to see it pulling 24 to 28 watts — and occasionally higher — during simple, routine use. Not even more than one window open.

Can’t imagine that this model with a larger screen would pull less — unless Acer has made some efficiency improvements. But I sure like the Acers and after reading close to a hundred of these reviews, was pretty convinced I was going to order one. (Until I tested the wattage of the 8-inch model. Now I’m frustrated.)

Am hoping someone out there who owns one of these also owns a Kill-a-Watt meter and will take the couple minutes to plug the Acer into it and watch the readings as they surf the web and maybe play a video. And then report here? Please?

Also, if anyone knows the difference between the 0150 and 0250 (just out as I write this), could you detail it?

Thanks,

kwc

5 Stars Nice little netbook
This is a great little gadget for anyone who wants a convenient way to surf the web or manage e-mails. The keyboard is more compact than a typical notebook and takes some getting used to, but that is to be expected for a small netbook. It is worth the extra dollars to invest in the 6 cell battery; the charge lasts approximately 7 hours. Also, I think it is worth the extra few dollars to purchase this 10 inch screen model, rather than the less expensive nine-inch model; the extra inch makes a big difference, particularly for those of us who are entering our “bifocal years”! While the six cell battery and larger screen make this model a bit less compact than the smaller, three cell battery model, it is still a very portable unit, lightweight and about the size of a hardback book. Overall, a great value!
