Great price but charger doesn’t work. Shows that is charging but never registers on the Blackberry. Typical Chinese product, looks great but doesn’t work.

I have used numerous chargers that did not work well due to poor cable and /or cheap hardware. This one has worked flawlessly since day one. The weight and feel of this charger leads one to believe it will not only work but will hold up under every day general use. It does just that. I definitely reccommend this charger for your Blackberry.

I never leave home with the DC car cord for my blackberry. The battery life is not the best for the phone, so the DC charger comes in real handy. The coiled cord works out real well

5 Stars Nokia Caharger
This item works exactly as intended. I received the real NOKIA charger. My phone that I bought from ebay came with an aftermarket charger, that stopped working after a couple of months, you would need to fiddle with it indefinitely to get it to charge and then it would move a mm and stop charging. This charger works every time, so far (a couple of months) without a problem.

2 Stars Beware: This charger does NOT WORK with all Nokia phones – even if the plug fits!
The item being sold here is actually a Nokia AC-4U charger (might be nice to include that information somewhere, seller!). Though it is a “small barrel” charger, it WILL NOT NECESSARILY work with any “small barrel” Nokia cell phone (particularly newer models). Even worse, it may *appear* to work, but not actually charge your phone! This is what happened with my Nokia E51 – the plug fits fine, when I plug it in it beeps and says “Charging” and shows the charging animation. But then when I go to pick it up in the morning, not only has it not charged the phone – the battery is completely dead! It actually *drained* the battery faster by having it plugged in!

The “compatible” charger that Nokia recommends for most of their newer phones is the AC-8U. Unfortunately you’ll find you have to pay substantially more to pick it up. This is what is posted on Nokia’s web site about the AC-8U: “Charge any Nokia device with a Nokia 2 mm charging interface.” Sounds good! Now contrast that to what it says about the AC-4U (the item being sold here):

“* WARNING: Use only batteries, chargers, and enhancements approved by Nokia for use with this particular model. The use of any other types may invalidate any approval or warranty, and may be dangerous.”

Uh oh! That doesn’t sound good! Not only may it invalidate your warrany, it “may be dangerous”. Beware of exploding batteries!

This is inexcusable on Nokia’s part, especially if people have actually damaged their phones this way. It also makes me wonder about what might happen with the “imitation” chargers you can buy at reputable places like Target and Radioshack. Here’s a hint, Nokia: If using an old model charger can cause your phone to explode, alter the connector type so no one uses the wrong one by accident!

1 Star Battery wasn’t charged and won’t charge!
This battery would not turn the camera on, so I charged it in the charger that came with the camera and it still won’t turn the camera on. I would return it but I don’t have the original packaging. Don’t buy one!

1 Star Low Capacity
The battery I purchased does not hold very much charge. It lasts about 25% of the time for the “Canon” brand battery. It could be that I got unlucky, but I suspect that it just is a cheaply made battery with bad manufacturing tolerances.

ps: I do analysis of energy efficiency for consumer goods for a living, and have thought a lot about batteries.

I ordered this battery so that I would always have a spare one.

Always beware of the “best value” (buy together today). It is not always the best value. I was charged $34.99 for the battery and $10.95 for shipping for a total of $45.94. Then I found the same battery, available for $19.95 with free shipping for prime customers. Definitely learned a big lesson with this purchase.

5 Stars Great replacement battery!
I purchased this battery as a spare for my SD1100IS, and have taken it on a dive vacation using the camera and an underwater housing for scuba diving pics. Underwater photography involves heavy use of the LCD monitor and flash while underwater. The battery easily lasted through each two-tank dive outing plus some picture reviews on the boat, charged right up afterwards, and was ready to go for the next outing.

1 Star Lenmar DLC4L Lithium-ion Digital Camera/Camcorder Battery
I wanted to replace my several-year old Canon battery that is having a short life. Upon receiving the Lenmar battery I charged it completely and alas, it only lasted 20 pictures in my camera. I discharged it completely and did a complete charge again. It still dies quickly, even worse than my old OEM Canon battery.

I understand that I may have just gotten a bad battery and I will order another one. If it works as well as OEM Canon batteries, then I’ll write another review with 4 or 5 stars to balance out my 1-star review here.

5 Stars Charger for kindle 2
Very useful to have these rapid and car charger. My kindle seems to drain battery very quickly even when not in use. I am glad to have these chargers that I could take with me.

4 Stars Handy product… but bulky
I bought this for the car charger. Nice that there is also a wall charger. Somewhat redundant that there are 2 cords since they are detachable from the charger itself. One cord would suffice since it could easily be plugged into either. The wall charger does the job but it is considerably more bulky than the Amazon charger.

5 Stars Essential – YES – a pleasure to use and has a surprise.
I purchased the Kindle 2 within a week of its release. I carry it everywhere. The first thing I am concerned with when purchasing any portable electronic tool is having a back up charger – preferably for both home and vehicle. Initially, I went for the iGo Everywhere PS00252-0003 Universal Wall (AC) and Auto (DC) Charger with Retractable Cable (Charger Only, Tips Not Included) which was recommended when I purchased my Kindle 2. However, when it arrived, I tried to purchase a tip for the Kindle 2 and there was none to be found (Kindle 1 yes!) – even the vendor didn’t have one available. One of the things that drew me to it was the shared cable. I would only have to carry one tip (wall or car) and share a cable. I returned the iGo – didn’t satisfy my needs. Then I purchased the Gomadic Corp. Essential Kit.

When it arrived, I was PLEASANTLY surprised to see that it used detachable USB cables for each charger – vehicle and wall. WOW! I can carry either tip (vehicle/wall) and one detachable USB cable to plug into each. These detachable cables also let me connect my Kindle 2 to my PC for file transfers (like the original USB cable/charger that came with my Kindle 2).

I now have two extra USB cables, so I can keep one at home as a back-up. I am already using the plugs (vehicle/wall) and USB cable (separately) instead of the cable that came with my Kindle 2. Talk about multi-use … this product is great. Best of all, I do a lot of traveling overseas and this lets me use one product for all my traveling.

The fact that it auto-switches for foreign voltage (240) and the built in circuitry for surge protection and over charging … makes this product a must have for anyone who does a lot of travel.

One final point – since I needed both a wall and vehicle charger, this product offers both for twice the price of the Amazon Kindle 2 Replacement Power Adapter. But it gives me – TWO detachable USB cables and a way to charge my Kindle 2 in the car.
