5 Stars unbelievable
Just received my Samsung LNB460 22inch LCD from Amazon

What a beauty, even with the set off.I’ve been

a Sony person for 20 years, but this baby is impressive.

The picture is fantastic and so is the sound, perfect for

a bedroom or den.I read the start up manuel 3 times to be sure

but to my delight the set does everything for you.All you do is

answer the promps by cliking Enter and you’r done.

I’m glad I picked SAMSUNG for a change.Yes,the hardest working

people on earth sure put out great stuff lately.

5 Stars Nice TV at a good price
I’m very happy with this TV. The picture is great, and the sound is good. The Amazon site said it had three HDMI ports at the time I ordered, but the TV in reality only has one HDMI (I sent Amazon a note to correct the product description.) I wasn’t thrilled about not getting three HDMI ports, but I decided to keep the TV nonetheless since it has a great picture in the size I need and at a good price.

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars dependable product
The OPPO DV-980H is an excellent, dependable and foolproof product. I have used it for the past two years, and it has always been extremely reliable. It is often difficult to realize when a product is excellent, because it doesn’t cause problems, and therefore doesn’t force itself onto your consciousness… this is one of those understated and excellent products. I highly recommend it. Well done, OPPO!

5 Stars Best Upconverted Player
Ordered this player from Amazon and received it in 1 week. For anyone who doesn’t want to get a Blu-Ray yet, the Oppo IS the best Upconverted Dvd-player that you can get for around $160. Only a very few more expensive players that can match this player. The picture is sharp, colors are accurately rendered and the sound is just amazing. I don’t want to say anything else about this player because whatever i want to say is already been said millions of time on the net.

Bottom line is if you want an Upconverted Dvd player then this is IT.

5 Stars Outstanding upconverting DVD player
I have had this player for about six months now. It does everything very well.It automatically resizes the video output of commercial DVDs to fit the HDTV 16:9 format. It also plays the many self-recorded DVDs (DVD-R) very well. No freeze-ups, tracking is wonderful. It does seem to have a mind of its own when it starts up with a fresh DVD. Sometimes starts a few minutes into the DVD, sometimes ignores the remotes commands until I can manage to send it to the title screen. Then everything is fine. Probably needs an upgrade on the software. But overall, a top performer.

1 Star Great Until the DVD Tray Broke
I purchased this player in January of 2008 and was very happy with its performance up until yesterday when the DVD tray stopped working (the tray would not open). This was a useful life of 1 year and roughly 4 months. Only a 1-year warranty. Great:(

5 Stars Exceeds expectations
Given the heaps of well written reviews about the Oppo, I’ll keep my review short and casual. This sweet piece of tech rocks! My 1080p TV is very happy.

If you are a high-definition video enthusiast who’s looking for a more affordable way to bring a front-screen projection to your home theater or family room, the Mitsubishi HC1600 projector is the right choice for you. This native 720p high definition projector shines bright at 1700 ANSI lumens and includes a sharp 2500:1 contrast ratio for extraordinary crisp details even when the lights are on. It includes the Texas Instruments DDP3020 DLP chip with BrilliantColor processing technology for added boost to brightness and color to your images. Additionally, it includes a flexible HDMI connectivity input, a lamp life of up to 3000 hours and operates at an ultra-quiet 25dBA noise level. This native 720p projector makes the high definition home theater experience even more affordable.

User Ratings and Reviews

4 Stars Satisfied – does all that I want it to do
I’ve owned this for a month now, and have used it for about 30 hours of video and computer browsing. I was concerned about the rainbow effects mentioned by other reviewers, but I haven’t discerned any in my time with it.

Didn’t think i’d use the remote, but is convenient to change the inputs, aspect ratios (16:9 to 4:3 etc.) and the brightness / contrast. The bulb meter is pretty convenient to track usage of the bulb.

Overall, a great buy for the price!

5 Stars As promised
I had to do a lot of research before buying since this was my first projector. For the money I don’t think you can find any better; bright, crisp, easy to use, simple installation.

This projector is used to project old movies and art on a concrete wall and the images come out incredible.

I would definitely recommend this to anyone.

5 Stars Excellent projector for the price
I really have no complaints with this projector. The picture is crystal clear with bright, rich colors, the fan is much quieter than my old Sharp projector, and the bulb is bright enough in “low” mode to even watch during the day in my living room. I have yet to need to turn the brightness up to “standard”.

The rainbow effect is not nearly as bad as I was lead to expect from other reviews. I only really see it if I dart my eyes back and forth quickly, but during normal viewing I don’t notice it at all.

I can’t comment on bulb life as I’ve only put about 400 hours on mine, but so far so good.

All in all, I’m very pleased with this projector and would certainly buy it again.

5 Stars HC1600 is Awesome!!
I had an older non-HD projector before this, and worked it to the bone… so when I switched to the HC1600, it was another world. It has to be the best bang-for-your-buck HD projector out there. It is very quiet, and the color is great, the ‘low’ lamp mode is slightly less bright, but will extend the life of your lamp by 50% or more; I use it in the ‘low’ mode. I have it connected to my computer and to my XBOX360 and it works beautifully.

I have never used a projector with higher specs, so I can’t compare to anything ‘better’. The keystone feature for both left-right and up-down movement is nice so that it does not have to be centered to the desired screen placement. Its bigger than an HDTV you would purchase for the same price, and easier to handle!! I would recommend this projector to anyone who wants to have a home theater in their house.

5 Stars Best TV Experience Ever
I use this projector as my living room TV. It provides 100+ inches of HD quality picture, and hooks up easily into a cable/satellite set top box. It has normal component inputs for HDMI and digital audio. The fan is noisy by default, but you can turn the bulbs to a lower setting and this slows down the fan and prolongs bulb life.

Keep in mind that you’ll probably want some sort of a home theater receiver that can handle multuple video and sound inputs. The projector only has inputs for one video input (2 if you count the additional HDMI). You need some kind of external speakers. It’s a great system and so far has been a good buy.

                  Buy/More Info

The SAMSUNG LN40A550 delivers the sharpest, most realistic picture quality you’ve ever seen. Full HD (1080p) contains 1.5 times more scanning lines than conventional HD TVs. That means more pixels, more details and a better picture. A resolution that is approximately twice as much as conventional HD TVs creates the most perfect picture imaginable. Contrast and brightness levels achieve new heights in this LCD TV. Watch movies and shows come to life with enhanced details in very dark or bright scenes. Enjoy a more realistic, sharper picture quality that’s sure to catch your eye with 30,000:1 contrast ratio. One of the most important features for an LCD panel is the pixel response time. Response time refers to the amount of time it takes a pixel to “refresh” itself-to go from being active to being inactive, (ready to be re-activated). The lower the milliseconds, the faster the response time. A very fast 5ms response time virtually eliminates any blurring and gives you smooth-motion action scenes. Want to get more entertainment out of your TV than movies and shows? With our Wiselink USB connection, you can easily and quickly hook up your MP3 player or digital camera and entertain family and friends with a photo slideshow set to music. SAMSUNG LCD TVs make your high-definition dreams a reality. With the SAMSUNG LN40A550 HDTV you really get the total package. 30,000 – 1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio 5ms Response Time 16 – 9 Aspect Ratio SRS TruSurround XT 10 W + 10 W Audio System Input Ports – 3 x HDMI (1 side, 2 rear), 2 x Component, 2 x A/V (1 side, 1 rear), 1x 15-pin VGA PC, 1 x S-Video (side), Wiselink (USB 2.0), RF antenna inputs, Headphone jack (side) Approximate Unit Dimensions – 39.2 (W) x 27 (H) x 11.8 (D) with stand Approximate Unit Weight – 61.5 pounds

Excellent TV. But watch who you are ordering from. I have a problem with the TV that came damage during shipment. I have called several time to resolve the issue with exchanging it. They told me to contact the “Manufacturer” to fix the problem. So, I called Samsung and they had a tech to see the problem. When the tech saw the TV, he told me that Samsung with not replace the LCD screen. He told me, it would “COST” me $900 to replace it. I call the Electronics Expo again, and now they tell me that they have to contact the shipper. I waited and waited with no responds. I was so angry, I disputed with my credit card and gave them a bad feedback. I also had a similar problem with VANN’S but there are GREAT. I love them. Watch out for “ELECTRONICS EXPO”.

5 Stars Very Satisfied
I walked out of Best Buy with the LN40A550 for $720 brand new so that go me started on the right foot! I have had this TV for a week and absolutely love it. I have my macbook pro hooked up via DVI > HDMI and it looks stunning. I also purchased a Sony DVD player (DVP-NS710H/B) and so far it has done a great job of upscaling DVDs to the 1080p resolution over HDMI. Also, regular cable tv doesn’t look as bad as I thought it would after reading some of the reviews. While the native sound is unimpressive, I have a surround sound system hooked up to it.

Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase and would definitely consider buying Samsung again.

3 Stars PIP feature
I ordered the product hoping the PIP feature would be the same as what I’m used to but it is not. It’s useless for the application I’d hoped for. I’m still trying to figure out if I can use it at all.

5 Stars Unbeivable Picture Quality for the price
This is the most beautiful picture quality I have ever seen. I knew Samsung was the best, but the price was so worth it. I would recommend this TV to anyone looking for a fabulous HD TV at a great price.

2 Stars Broken TV took 3 weeks to fix
Samsung sent me a tv that worked for the first 3 days and then broke all on its own. When I asked for the repair, it took 3 weeks before they could repair it because they have to try different parts and then order the next part and reschedule after each time they try. All in all it’s fixed now, but when I called customer service to let them know how ridiculous it was the lady was rude and trying to brush me off. I most likely will not be purchasing a samsung tv next time.

Music around the home is now easier to realize than ever before. The AVR-1709 features a powerful seven channel amplifier section that can be easily configured for a 7.1 channel surround sound loudspeaker system, or to drive a 5.1 channel surround sound system in the main room, while at the same time able to drive a pair of stereo speakers in another room. Featuring tremendous video signal handling flexibility, the AVR-1709 features three latest specification v1.3a HDMI digital video inputs and one HDMI output that handles HD signals up to the highest 1080p resolution.

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars Solid Receiver!
I’ve always wanted to own a Denon Receiver because in my eyes, they seem to be the best. They always seemed to make the best quality products, and when I had the chance to get a Denon, I did.

The Denon AVR-1709 is an awesome receiver that puts out a very nice 80 watts x 7 channels, which is more than enough. This is an extremly loud reciver with it’s volume range goes from -80 db to a whopping +18 db. My buddy’s Harmon/Kardon only gets to +0 db. The set-up was sorta tough but but the calibration mic makes everything better. People conplain about not having an On Screen Display, but I love that it doesn’t, its much easier. I was annoying that there is no 3.5 mm port of Ipods, even though it has an “Ipod mode” but it was just another cheap cable I had to buy.

I do alot of research on my products before I buy, so I knew that it is only HDMI pass though. In all of the desciptions it clearly says that it only handles video, so anyone who complains about it is foolish because they did not read. I don’t really use HDMI that much, and anyways I just let my TV handle the video and audio conected though optical cables. this has a very nice amount of inputs which is more than enough for anyone looking for a receiver in this price level.

I did have a small problem with overheating, but that is my fault because it is in a small area. I fixed that problem with a fan as the Denon does not have one. Over all the Denon is a very solid buy, and I recomend it to anyone.

4 Stars Does a bit of everything
This receiver is a good value and gives you great flexibility for the dollars you spend. Set up is not fast, but if you read and follow instructions you will be very satisfied with the results. It customizes the sound to your room for your listening pleasure. I’d like to have seen more remote control of the Sirius radio’s display as it always defaults to station and you must go to the receiver to see what’s playing, but the sound is great. This receiver cannot send audio over the HDMI cables so you will have to wire both video and audio. It does let you program just about any input/output to any device. All in all you get a good bang for the buck.

2 Stars zone two does not get audio through optic or coaxial connection
Ok I was aware that HDMI does not output audio but i did not need to connect the video signals through the receiver. I got the optic cable and connected it from tv to the receiver and sound in zone one was awesome, but I did not have any sound output in zone two. After hours of going through the manual and playing with the receiver I came across a one line sentence that said that optic or coaxial input can’t be played in zone two. I connected the audio cables directly to receiver and it works like a charm. So buyers beware, it is going to take you some patience and finesse to get this thing going but for the money you are paying it is worth the hassle.

5 Stars Under-rated!
I was amazed at AV products prices at amazon are so much cheaper than in singapore. I got mine at around the listed price here, a bundle offer. If not, i won’t be getting at such a low price in Singapore.

Design

I had the silver version which was gorgeous to me as the first AV receiver i’ve bought. A personal preference which i love silver. 2008 design with the top curve makes it almost looked like the high-end models.

Performance

This is out of this world for the price. Wonderful entry level, with all the necessary decoding and 80 watts per channel. Even it does not has true HD decoders which most pple are raving about, the DD EX processes the 7.1 smoothly plus plenty of fine tunning. I have to thank Denon for releasing this budget line product for me to start off my Audio interests. Currently only Onkyo’s prices are lower than Denon with their amazingly THX certified AVs.

*many reviews critic that it does not carry audio for hdmi (7.1 pcm), disappointing, ofcos! But at this price, you can’t complain.

Conclusion

If you don’t have blueray/HD contents, this AV could process your dvd to 7.1 with a touch of class.

4 Stars Great product for price
Think of hookup this way: The HDMI basically carries only video to this receiver. If you want this receiver to send audio directly to the speakers, you must use the audio connections. The cable HDMI connections do send video and sound to the HDTV via the HDMI cables (as if you would ever want to use the TV’s speakers). The setup sounds archaic, but once it is set up, it produces great audio and video.

This receiver demands that you read the manual before and during setup. It took two of us a full afternoon to make all the proper connections and adjustments and to get the pre-sets on tuner and the remote they way we wanted them. The Audyssey system was time-consuming but well worth the effort.

If you have an iPod plugged into the VCR/iPod terminals, you cannot also use the VCR terminals — you have to choose one accessory or switch them. (I did not see a warning in the manual about this, but my connections refused to work.) I decided that the cable box, TV and Denon iPod dock had to stay put, but the DVD player and Internet digital video player could be switched. So I bought an audio switch ($50) and an HDMI switch ($100) because I could not find a combination unit that was under $700. This setup will let me add still another HDMI accessory.

Now that all the components are setup, the system is a delight to use. We get much better sound out of our bookshelf speakers than we knew possible. The sound quality is why we bought the Denon.

High Performance Connection Between HDMI and DVI Components / Cables Makes Hookup Easy! HDMI, the hottest high-definition digital audio/video standard, is compatible with all digital video connection, DVI. So, if you’ve got DVI components (like DVD player, Cable box, HDTV tuner with DVI outputs) in your system and buy a new HDMI-capable component (like Plasma TV or projector), compatibility is guaranteed.

5 Stars works effortlessly, right after plugging it in.
didnt have to change settings on pc or tv. worked great. havent tested it in game yet. ill update if anything bad happens…

5 Stars a must have
Very handy adapter to prevent buying another LCD TV. Just use a video monitor when hooking to Dish.

What more can I say? It’s well built, works well, and it’s cheap. Why waste money on a more expensive adapter?

5 Stars Works great…no complaints
Just as advertised. I used this to use a standard HDMI cord to hook to an older HDTV that has only a DVI input. Works great!

5 Stars HDMI cable converter
I purchased this converter so that I can hook up my desktop to my 47′ Philips HDTV. It worked perfectly. I plugged it in and turned on my computer and that was it.

I would however have you verify that this is the product you actually need. Some computers may not actually have a DVI output but rather a VGA output. Make sure you are purchasing the right converter base on your computers capabilities.

User Ratings and Reviews

2 Stars Not a good choice for TV
This may be a fine monitor but as a TV it has several drawbacks:

1) The VERY narrow viewing angle. I read other reviews and thought they might be overly critical but once I set it up I realized how horrible the viewing angle is.

2) The poor sound quality. Again I read the reviews but assumed the reviewers were being too picky. The sound is akin to a cheap little clock radio.

3) The on screen menus are too small for a TV that will be viewed from 6 feet away.

All the above criticism apply to using the as a TV.

As a PC monitor it seemed fine except it lacks height and pivot adjustments

ALSO: I’m surprised that Amazon is hiding it’s return policy for monitors under the heading “See more technical details”. Come on Amazon this is blatantly deceptive. I’m surprised Amazon has pulled a fast one here. I’ll have to rethink where I buy stuff based on the little stunt.

PLEASE REVIEW THEIR RETURN POLICY AS AMAZON WILL NOT ACCEPT RETURNS FOR ANY OF THE ISSUES I DESCRIBED!

5 Stars Great TV/Monitor
This was one of the simplest monitor’s/tv’s to set up. Just make sure you tighten the screw underneath the stand and the TV will be sturdy.

I use a Galaxy HDMI (1.3b) cable to connect my Dell 1737 Laptop to the Samsung T240 HD. The display is gorgeous and is extremely intuitive to adjust. I just click menu on the remote and adjust the settings to my heart’s desire.

The sound is fine. I don’t hear any buzzing or tinny sound from the speakers.

I watch TV in 2 ways: 1.via the monitor from a high definition TV tuner USB stick 330 (with antenna) I bought from Kworld:

http://www.amazon.com/Kworld-ATSC%252fNTSC-Hybrid-HDTV-Tuner/dp/B000OXJK4K/ref=cm_cr-mr-title

2. via the TV from the super cheap budget TV antenna I bought, which gives me 74 free over the air digital channels, many of which are in 1080i format:

http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2103077

There is a source button on the remote which allows one to switch from monitor to TV and back to monitor instantly.

Some colors fade on the monitor when you view it from the side, so it’s best to sit in front of the monitor.

For this price, this monitor/tv is an absolute bargain.

1 Star Broke quickly, repair failed
I used this model as a desktop monitor for my computer. It is large, clear, and really pretty cool. Well, I thought this was a pretty cool until it broke exactly 105 days after I purchased it. That was 15 days after the return policy expired.

For a $400 monitor to break within 4 months is intolerable. The screen is dark, but the power light comes on.

I sent the monitor to Samsung to have it repaired. The repair was performed within 9 days (7 business days) – which is pretty quick. Well, I thought it was pretty quick until I tried to turn it on. It doesn’t work.

In fact it is more broken than when I sent it. Now the power light doesn’t even come on.

I scanned the internet and apparently Samsung monitors have this problem. So I caution: buyer beware. Do not buy Samsung products.

5 Stars Excellent monitor
I’ve only used this as a secondary monitor to my MacBook Pro 15, but it works fantastically. Colors are bright, power consumption is low, and I’ve had no problems at all. I only wish I would have waited for the 26″ to come down in price.

3 Stars Good value, but lots of little problems
I bought this unit because it was a good value for the money. It has a built in HD tuner and lots of different inputs, including 2 HDMI ports.

The problems (some of these are going to sound like nits, but they severely affect the usefulness of the product):

1. The bezel surrounding the active part of the LCD has a very shiny beveled edge on it which makes everything close to the edge of the screen appear to have a mirrored duplicate.

2. The unit has 2 HDMI ports, but one of them is on the side behind a closed door.

3. The headphone hack is behind a closed door. Why not get rid of the door?

4. The power light shines when the unit is on and is extinguished when the unit is off. It should work opposite of this so it doesn’t distract from the viewing.

5. The monitor isn’t very good at dealing with multiple resolutions. Some of the PC content is off the screen.

6. The monitor always stretches the image. It is not possible to display lower resolutions 1:1, non-stretched.

7. The stand is slick on the bottom so when you push the power button, the whole monitor pivots on the table. Overall, the stand is a joke. The monitor can only be tilted back slightly, that’s all.

8. No composite inputs (I knew this going in). These would be nice to connect older gaming systems that can’t do component or HDMI.

9. Speakers are weak. They don’t put out enough volume except for very quiet environments (like a bedroom).

10. The tuner does a lousy job of displaying HDTV accurately. I have a DVICO PCI card that blows this out of the water.

11. Gradient banding is noticeable because of the LCD type.

I’m only giving it a three because I think the monitor is inexpensive, otherwise I would have rated it lower.
