5 Stars It’s a battery charger…
It does what it’s supposed to do, it charges Canon BP series batteries. I have tried this with 3 different batteries (BP-807, BP-808, BP-819) and all charge fine. A must have item, if you plan on properly maintaining your batteries. Beware of imitations that don’t contain the appropriate charging circuitry.

5 Stars A must have!!!
The battery that comes with the Canon HG20 is okay. This battery does give me a lot more hours to play with. The only thing that I don’t like is that it is a bit expensive. If you are going on a vacation or something like that then I do recommend getting this battery since it holds more power for longer recording time.

5 Stars Canon battery charger quick and efficient
The charger was compact, easy to transport, and quickly recharged the larger battery pack purchased to go with the Canon Vixia HG20.

5 Stars Works Great
This charger plugs right into the wall with the battery pack attached – so there are no wires or long cords to deal with. Great product & easy to use.

5 Stars Slick
Works as advertised. I use it when I am taping my son’s Ultimate Frisbee games. I can plug it into my car inverter and charge a battery while I am using another. It is compact and the plug folds away…no cords to mess with. The battery snaps into place in the charger…plug it in and wait for the light to change color on the charger…done. Very happy with it.

1 Star This is a used battery in terrible condition
Only by careful review of the fine print is it possible to understand that this is a used battery. It is in worse condition than my existing battery. It is useless. No wonder the price is good. By the way, with the shipping charge amounting to 75% of the purchase price, this item is a waste of money.

1 Star Junk Junk Junk
I had the original BZ60 battery in my phone and it lasted for quite awhile, held a charge well. One day it died so I brought my phone into AT&T and they fitted it with a BR50 battery. Phone only lasts 2 days on a charge, junk junk junk – and this one probably wasn’t a counterfeit, I can imagine how junky the counterfeits are!

4 Stars Good Value Battery
My old battery used to last about a day. Now I can go 3-4 days without charging. (I don’t use the phone that much)

5 Stars Battery is great!
I needed a few replacement batteries for my Razr cell phones. This was the exact replacement and at a fraction of the cost that ALLTEL wanted to charge. I will order this product again!

1 Star Dead on Arrival
The battery will not hold a charge. It was new , but junk. DO NOT BUY!!!

5 Stars More Than Pleased
This is the first nav system that I’ve owned. I had previously just printed color maps from Google Maps and kept them in a loose leaf binder when I went on a trip to places that I hadn’t been before. After riding with someone that had a GPS nav system, I decided to give it a try.

Since I was new to these systems, I had a bit of trouble figuring out how to set the system up for my trip (and I did read the included manual as well as on-line instructions). Once I figured out that the best way to navigate to each location was to put the destination into my favorites, then either nav directly to the destination, or, if I needed to specify an alternate to the default recommended route, to set up my own route, with the appropriate way points.

A couple of weeks ago, I took a photography safari to Florida, to several shooting sites and motels that I had not been to previously. I set up each destination in the Nuvi, and then selected the target destination from the Where To? menu. I couldn’t believe how much easier the trip was with this system.

Instead of worrying about which lane to get in as I drove down the interstate, I just followed the directions from the nav system. What an improvement. With regard to the specific features of the 885T, I found it to be easy to use, though not as quick responding to my inputs as I’m used to with a PC. Still, it wasn’t bad. Once I figured out how to set up routes with way points, It was fairly easy to do. I did use Google Maps to help with this process. To me, this is one of the advantages of a portable unit like the Nuvi as opposed to a built-in nav system – you can carry it into the house and sit in front of the computer to plan your trips.

I hooked up the Nuvi to my Bluetooth-enable cell phone, and that worked as advertised. I was pleasantly surprised the first evening that I was driving, when the unit switched from daylight to night mode. It made the display easier on the eyes. I only had a couple of occasions where the lane view feature activated, but it did work as advertised, and was very helpful. The estimated arrival time feature was neat, and it became a sort of game to see if I could bring this time down – usually though, it went up as I got stuck at stop lights and in traffic. Still a very useful feature.

Another feature that was extremely useful was the display of the speed limit. This was incredibly accurate, usually changing in less than a second as I passed the signs on the highway.

The only thing that I really didn’t like about the Nuvi was the included MSN service, which was basically useless to me, since I don’t live in a covered area. I would still have used it for travel, except that when I started the registration process, I was asked detailed personal questions which are frankly, none of Microsoft’s business. I decided that the limited functionality that I would get was not worth the price. In any case, that didn’t detract from the usefulness of the Nuvi for the primary purpose that I purchased it. Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase.

1 Star 885t problems
I bought the 885t 2 months ago and have returned 2 to Amazon due to defects. The first 885t had problems with the touch screen completely freezing up and I had to take the battery out to get it to restart. The second GPS started shutting down and rebooting on its own on several occasions. With both units, I called Garmin and they confirmed it was a defect in the product. I am very disappointed I got two lemons in a row. Also, I tried using the MSN to find a gas station while on a trip. On two occasions, it directed me to a gas station that didn’t exist. At this point, I’m without a GPS and looking at other manufactures.

5 Stars This is the one to buy!
At last, a GPS that lets you concentrate on the road. The speech recognition feature is easy to use and works extremely well. Coupled with my Bluetooth enabled phone and MSN Direct, Garmin has eliminated a lot of the hassle and potential problems of driving in congested areas. I’ll be taking this to Europe in the fall thanks to the ability to insert a microSD card directly into the unit. (Have already simulated my route so I’m better prepared for the trip.)

The design and size makes it easy to slip into a pocket, and you can switch to the Pedestrian mode when you leave the car and not worry about getting lost (wife loves that).

Would like to see a better manual (both what’s sent in the box and on line). Tech Support was very knowledgable about the use of the microSD card and provided info that was not in any of the documentation. Don’t hesitate to send them an email if you can’t find an answer in their Q&A section.

1 Star Major Disappointment
I “upgraded” from a Garmin NUVI 350 to an 885T. My 1st trip was from Tennessee thru the Northeast, seeking specific locations for my job. I brought both units, luckily, as the new 885T tried to get constantly send me who knows where. I eventually put the old 350 unit on the windshield along side it, what a geek, and started comparing routes. In Boston, trying to go to an address I had previously visited, the 885T got me lost miles away. I put the 350 up, which had correctly taken me there once before with no issues, and followed it’s directions. As I got off the correct exit, 20 minutes later, the 885T told me to get off the exit, get back on the highway and go back the way I had just traveled. The 350 took me straight to my destination with the 885T “recalculating” the whole way. In New York City, I was on I-95 heading East to an address in Connecticut on I-95 that I knew, and the 885T wanted me to take the Lincoln Tunnel into NY City. This happened on several occasions in multiple states. At my parents house in Connecticut, the “Where am I now?” feature told me I was @ street #335 when I was at street #9; there are only 2 houses on the street, #s 7 & 9. This feature is yet to give me the address I am sitting at. The 4-yr old maps in my NUVI 350 worked 100% better than the new and improved 885T. So much for my $500.00 upgrade.

4 Stars Easy to use
Best feature is being able to control the functions with a voice command. Would have given it a 5 star rating – if it was less expensive relative to the other Garmin models.

5 Stars Very pleased
This battery is amazing. A must have item. It is fit into my HG10 nicely. Just slightly bigger than the piece of craps battery that came with the canon HG10. This battery should have come with the HG10. Every time I used the HG10 for 15-20 minutes and the battery still shown full power. The original battery would have shown 1/2 power or need to be recharge.

4 Stars Not the extended use battery for HV30
Good battery to replace the one that comes with the HV30, but this is not the extended use battery.

5 Stars Works great
Purchased this for our video camera over a year ago. It really helps ensure that we won’t run out of power for an event.

5 Stars Great battery!!
Had to buy to replace the one we bought over four years ago. We got hundreds and hundreds of hours of recording on our camcorder with this battery. I know we’ll get long life out of it. There is long usage between charges. You definately get your money’s worth.

5 Stars Works great for me
I took two of these batteries with me on a recent trip to China – I always recharged them overnight and didn’t have any situations during the day while site-seeing where I ran out of battery juice. I used them in a Canon HV30 video camera and they have more than enough juice for me to watch my 1 hour HD tapes on the plane flight back. :)

5 Stars Great GPS and Features
Works great right out of the box.

I use mine on a motorcycle, so the waterproof feature was what I needed but did want to spend the money for a Zumo.

There are better GPS units out there, but cost more, and this one does everything I need it to.

4 Stars garmin GPS
Pretty good unit. A little hard to hang on to if used by hand. Added price of lake maps is out of line. Goecaching…haven’t tried yet, but the download was easy and entry of coordinates very easy. All in all, I am very pleased with the purchase.

4 Stars ADDICTED!
I love my new Garmin. It is the first GPS I have ever purchased. I bought it mainly to geocache and it has been pretty good to me. It’s great because it is quick to transition from either driving to hiking mode. Love the touch screen.

3 Stars Good but not what I expected
Good GPS but not what I expected. Screen is small and moving to different sections of the map is difficult. As I said good but I expected more.

3 Stars Not bad, but not all good either.
This unit is fairly nice, but its more of an on-the-road GPS. It has a terrific 3D view and works well at guiding you down the road. It does lack any way of holding it when in the back country though, and has no screen lock for when you throw it in your backpack, so the touch screen goes nuts while in the pack. It also only comes with the 1:100K TOPO’s which are about as useless as they get in the woods, and at the moment Garmin has no TOPO 1:24K maps for the NorthEast, and you have to purchase those separately. There is support for Raster images, but no way to create Raster Maps, which would be a major plus if we could load on USGS 24K maps, which are superior to the ones Garmin uses. I also found the Address lookup ability, which a GPS unit should excel at, was quite useless. There just isnt enough addresses in the unit, it has serious troubles when looking up small towns addresses. I have a legal address and zip code and it refuses to accept it. It will suggest the next town over, or a location several miles from my home, and this is normal for all Garmin’s. I find this annoying, because like I said, this should be its strong suit, it is a GPS unit afterall.

I did find some custom made 1:24K maps online, and they are pretty good, but no where near as good as the USGS. Its a good unit, but they didnt think it thru very well, maybe the next generation of this unit will fair better.

Things that need to be changed or added:

1) Should come with 1:24K Maps

2) They need to get the Raster ability working so we can load USGS 1:24K

3) Address lookups need to be updated/expanded and more accurate(This is a real let down right now)

4) Needs a place to hookup up a strap so you have a way to secure it while carrying it around.

5) Desperately needs a Screen Lock, even Garmin’s vehicle units have this, but a Cross-Over unit that spends its time in the woods/backpacks doesnt?

6) Should be smaller, its just a little to large to carry around or hold.(Maybe adding the ability to turn the unit and have the screen view turn with you, its easier to hold the unit the long way)
