3 Stars Nice case but unsuitable for some drives
I bought this case in conjunction with an Iomega eGo 500 GB portable drive. The sole purpose of this case is to protect this drive for storage.

The case is nicely constructed and is slightly larger than the drive itself. I think the eGo drives are slightly smaller because they’re not an even thickness from side to side (the top bulges up a bit). The case would work better if the drive was as thick on the sides as in the middle as that would allow the strap to grab it more securely. Portable drives that are 3/4″ to 1″ thick will fit nicely.

There are two things I don’t like about this case that should be considered.

- The product material says “Interior strap secures portable hard drive in place”. It depends. The strap is not adjustable although it is stretchy. It goes across the shorter dimension. There is only one strap. Whether it secures the portable drive depends a lot on the thickness of the drive. I have other drives it wouldn’t work with. Also, there is nothing to secure the drive from sliding around the length of the case except for the ends. A shorter drive like the eGo will move around if I jostle the case.

- The product image shows a cable stored in the top. This barely works. If the cable is tied any tighter than in the image or you try to include more than one cable the case won’t close. I wanted to just slide the USB cable I received with the drive unwrapped and still tied up into the case. It wouldn’t fit.

Why 3 stars and not fewer? For me the case is more for protection than transporting convenience. I’m going to put the drive and case somewhere safe and only get them when I want to update a backup. If I were putting this case in my backpack and taking it places on a regular basis I would have given it 2 stars.

4 Stars Great case – A little bit overpriced
This case fits perfect my Seagate portable hard drive. You can find cheaper cases around though. I like this one because it’s sturdy and has a little mesh compartment to store the USB cable.

5 Stars Good product, a little roomy but still good.
I bought this for my WD Passport, it slides around in it a bit, but the case protects it very well. Like most CaseLogic products, it is solid construction with good stitching; and unlike the pics I saw on Amazon, the inside is black not yellow, I like the black better.

Holds cables, wires, earpieces, etc. as well as the external hard drive. So convenient, that I never take the hard drive out of the case.

4 Stars works well
Its not somthing you can, or want, to over stuff. But it works well for bringing a few things for a trip that will take a few hours. Pretty good protection too.

4 Stars Great case for traveling, but beware that it may damage UMD disks
This is a great case for the price. You need to be careful putting your PSP in and out of it to be sure you don’t scratch the screen on the zippers. It holds your memory cards which is great. It has spots to hold 4 UMD disks. However, I recommend NOT using storing them here. It is VERY tight, and will end up cracking the cases on your disks. This happened to multiple UMDs that I had. I was able to fix them with a paperclip, but now they are cracked and I have to be careful with them.

The case itself is very nice. Especially for the price. I originally used this with my “phat” PSP-1001, and it worked fine. I now use it with my PSP-2000. It is very durable and I have dropped my PSP in the case many times with no damage.

What I really like the most about the case is the clip that is connected to it. I travel quite a bit and am always walking through the airport. I love to use this to clip to my belt loop when I am listening to music. I am able to put my PSP-2000 in the case with my headphones/remote connected to it and let the cord hang out the top. I then can listen to music and adjust volume while my PSP is in it’s case hanging on my belt loop!!! This is BY FAR the best use for the case that I would not give up for anything.

If you don’t listen to music a lot with it, and are looking for a case that you can also store games… definitely pass on this. If you just want a case to protect your PSP and use it to travel with while listening to music… there is NOTHING better.

3 Stars Sturdy, but with an odd detail
I got this case for my husband’s psp. The psp fits great and the outer rubber shell of the case seems quite durable. However, if you look at the picture, you’ll see a carabiner looped through a little strap on the case. That strap is held in place by a large rivet that’s punched through the case and sits in the corner of the area the PSP should sit. This means that any time the PSP is in the case, that rivet is wearing on the PSP, potentially scratching, or otherwise ruining, the finish on the back of the system. If you buy this, be prepared to line the bottom with some heavy cloth or something to take the rivet out of the equation. That being said, this case is excellent for protecting and carrying a PSP. The designers just need to make an adjustment.

I have seen a lot of crazy experiments in my time, but this one has to take the cake. Theo Gray over at Pop Sci managed to make himself a glass ornament on a charcoal grill. By adding washing soda, lime or borax to silica beach sand, it is possible to reduce the temperature required to make glass from 3,000-3,500°F to a still toasty and very dangerous 2,000°F.
