4 Stars Works
Takes a charge, works in device – how long the power lasts remains to be seen, but at the price if it approximates 75% of the OEM battery I’ll be satisfied.

4 Stars Works!
Well, what can I say, it works! Don’t know whether it’s better, the same, or worse than the stock battery. I just alternated the batteries each day and then used the camera. One didn’t seem better than the other. In fact, to be honest, unless you do a TON of diving and recording I’m not 100% sure you’ll even need the extra battery. I shot a LOT of underwater video and never got the “low battery” message. But I guess it’s not a bad idea to be prepared.

5 Stars It works the same as the original Sanyo battery
I made a 2 1/2 hours non stop video taping yesterday, the original Sanyo battery low signal came out around 55 minutes, and die around 75 minutes. this battery came out around 55 minutes after I put it into my Sanyo Xacti camera, die around 75 minutes too.

5 Stars good backup battery
I bought this for a Sanyo Xacti E2. I haven’t done any rigid testing to compare against the original Sanyo battery’s life, but I also didn’t notice any difference in battery life while using it. Highly recommended as a solid backup battery.

4 Stars Fits VPC-e2!
I’ve bought a few DB-L20 “compatible” batteries to work with my xacti vpc-e2. NONE of them worked. They were all slightly too large and became lodged in my camera. It took pliers to remove them!

So when I saw this battery I was skeptical becuse it doesn’t flat out say that it is compatible with the vpc-e2. I saw a review that said it works with it, so I thought I would give it a try…

It fits! So if you own a vpc-e2 and don’t want to spend $40 for an official sanyo battery, i recommend it! It actually slides in and out better than the stock battery. I haven’t checked how long it holds a charge yet, so I can’t comment on that. I’m just happy I found a battery that fits!

4 Stars Works with CoPilot Truck
Needed a replacement for the OEM receiver that came with Copilot Truck, a software routing program for semi trucks, it works (install driver first), BUT, I would have rated it higher if it weren’t for the short cord. 5 feet?? That doesn’t even get from the west coast style mirrors into the cab. got 10 foot extension cable and that did it, with a shrink tube at the outside connection.

5 Stars Great little GPS and very rugged
I already have about 6 handheld GPS’s, all which would have worked for me (but required more wires & space in my backpack) but I bought this one for convenience to go with my new Eee PC and Microsoft Streets. As other reviewers reported, it is amazingly good at getting a signal. When I first tried it, it actually got a signal INSIDE my hotel room (I am normally standing out in the parking lot with my GPS muttering ‘acquire, acquire’.

It is also very well built… solid feeling, etc. Not cheaply made. Worth a little extra, IMHO.

It also works fine with all my marine navigation programs like Maxsea, The Capn, Nobeltec, etc. Very nice backup unit in a very small package.

5 Stars GPS for laptop
This Plug in GPS receiver works great. It had satellite lock and map location within 30 seconds.

5 Stars Perfect: Fast, functional, cheap
This one is a five-star keeper.

The setup was dirt simple – just follow the simple instructions about how to get it to talk on a COM port and you are ready to use it. Then tell your software what COM port to read from. That’s it.

It locks on as soon as it sees the sky (faster than you can bring up Map Point). Fast as in sets new standards for how fast it locks on. I just tossed it to the front of the dashboard of the rental car and it was happy. The magnet works (doesn’t blow off at Freeway speeds) and the suction cup works (holds to the inside of the windshield just fine), but I really did not need them.

I used it to calibrate the speedometer in my cars (with the help of a co-driver to call out speeds). One car was accurate and the other was way off.

I used it (with the latest version of Map Point) on a trip into the hills and redwoods of California on a dark, foggy, rainy night and it got me there just fine. A laptop screen makes for one huge GPS display. The trip would have been hopeless without the unit.

You will need your own software package (such as Map Point) to use it. You need a laptop or device that has a USB port.

I keep it in my laptop bag so that I always have it when I’m on the go.

5 Stars Very Accurate!
In conjunction with Microsoft Streets and Trips 2009 I was able to travel from northwest Arkansas all the way to Panama City Beach, Florida and back in no time during spring break 2009. I received up to a maximum of 11 satellite signals which was quite impressive. The powerful magnet on the back sticks to your car’s metal surface firmly while the rubber seal keeps it from moving around. I traveled with it to PCB dry and came back in a dark and stormy night across three different states. The rain was ridiculous. I couldn’t see 5 feet in front of me and there were floods everywhere but the USB GPS keeps on ticking! Did I mention it was waterproof? I’d highly recommend this product to anyone!

Windows makes mobile networking hard!

August 18th, 2008 Power Gadget Reviews No comments
I’m sure this is not news to anyone who’s a long time mobile worker, but man does Windows make mobile connectivity a complete pain in the ass! When I try to use either DUN or Joikuspot (wifi) to connect with my phones I am forced to reconnect or repair the connected repeatedly during the course of an attempted session. Why does windows even have repair as an option?! On my Mac it literally just works. If there’s a connection glitch because of low signal from the mobile, I can just simply recon
