5 Stars Great amplifier
Although made in China this unit is a great entry level amplifier, Yamaha reputation, has all the basic functions without the huge price tag. 5 speakers + a sub is more than enough for one big room. In addition, you get an A/B switch for the speakers meaning you can have another set of speakers in different room or outside. Outstanding sound quality even when connected to the internet. Remote works flaulessly but not the best when it comes to ergonomics. On a recent party, the amp was playing non-stop for 6 hours without any problems.

its good, my speakers still a little strong for it but you plug in yo pc tv and xbox for surround sound.. it be good $$ ;+)

Yamaha does it again! Does every thing I want it to do, from cds,dvds,tuner, and tv. Sound source amplification is easy to control from the remote. Outstanding basic home theater receiver. I highly recommend it.

4 Stars Very pleased.
I bought this unit to replace an old Sony receiver I’ve owned for over 10 years. I wanted the HDMI capability and am so happy that I made the move. The Yamaha was not the easiest to hookup but I’m no tech-head and find it difficult to figure out proper connection. I would recommend reading the manual to minimize frustration. I have DirectTV so connecting that source to the unit was completely easy. Just sat box to HDMI in and from Yamaha HDMI out to TV. You must go through the instructions in the manual as to how to set up the speakers. I have 5 speakers and a sub so in order for all of them to work you must go through this procedure. Another critical aspect that I didn’t discover until a few days after setting up the system was that you must go into the satellite box setup menu and enable the digital audio (that was turned off when DirectTV setup my initial installation). When I discovered this little item, wow, everything just sounded terrific. I find that having HDMI for the audio not a problem and would certainly not dismiss this unit because of that option. After getting everything hooked up properly and bearing a few days of scratching my head and wondering if I had done the right thing buying a new unit, I just could not be happier. The price is incredible and what a sweet system. I have not encountered any audio to video sync problems that others have discussed in other reviews. Everything is working just fine. I have found that in setting up the DirectTV remote for controlling the Yamaha that it is not possible to turn the unit on and off but you can control the volume with the DirectTV unit. That is not the best but not a deal breaker.

4 Stars Nice price, nice sound
Very good, for thew price it’s a great receiver, but if you don’t have the proper equipment like good 8 ohm cables and 100 w speakers the sound wont be the best, i hooked it up to my PlayStation 3 via hdmi for the video and optical for the sound, the sat receiver component for video and optical for sound, everything sound awesome, remember to crank up all of the PlayStation 3 sound options for the optical cable or you will not get sound from the optical of the play 3, i thought i was not necessary but i was not getting sound so i talk to a friend who had the same problem with his Onkyo, he turned everything and he got sound, so did i, why 4 stars? i think for the money i got what i needed, 5.1 sound and the lack of no hdmi sound, it only passesthru.

3 Stars Great picture – not that great sound
This is the first HD tv I have ever purchased, but I have lived with roommates for over 4 years that have owned HD tvs the entire time.

I am very satisfied with the picture on this TV (for the price). The blacks looks very deep, and TimeWarner cable looks awesome, as do xbox 360 games and BluRay discs.

My only gripe is the sound. Sometimes I have to turn it up near the maximum volume of 100 to hear things properly, and the speakers have a very noticeable rattle to them, even when they are not cranked all the way up.

I got a killer deal on this TV around Christmas time, and I’m planning to hook up surround sound to eliminate the quiet/rattling speakers problem, so overall I’m very satisfied.

5 Stars Best Value…period!
This TV is fantastic. We used it at our trade show booth with an LG Blu-Ray disk player and the video and sound quality was tremendous. We received many compliments on it and we couldn’t have been happier! For the money, you can’t buy a better product, thanks so much!

5 Stars Great product, great price
This was my first purchase of a TV this large. Let me tell you, after carefully researching, I am ecstatic about my new set! The color and clarity is just what I needed. I’m only wondering what took me so long.

I also appreciated the fact that because it was purchased through Amazon, they had skilled delivery persons hook up the TV myself. I did absolutely nothing! Hooray!

4 Stars Meets Expectations
I had lowered my expectations of all HDTVs after reading some negative customer reviews of Sony and Samsung on Amazon. Thus, the LG turned out to be more than satisfactory to me. My wife and children, who had not participated in the shopping research, found the set very impressive. Some early buyers of the LG had complained about the sound volume being a bit low, but we found the sound to be more than adequate. The unique screen size of 42″ has suited us well, as has the home delivery by Amazon’s local agent, who unpacked and installed professionally.

3 Stars underpowered . . .
I got these speakers after reading the reviews here that said they were pretty powerful and loud. Of course the source of the sound, be it an audio CD, an MP3, a live feed on the web, a DVD, a video game or whatever, will make a difference in the type of the sound being amplified, which makes a difference in what you hear. Overall, the performance of these speakers is decent, and generally not loud enough. For different types of sound sources, there is rarely distortion at maximum volume, which is good, but generally the reason for this is because the sound level isn’t that high. I have a set of USB powered speakers that can produce about the same level of output. The two single speakers seem to produce mostly midrange tones, favoring more on the higher side than the low end. The tonal quality is pretty sweet, good for most general listening. It would have been nice if the system had a little more kick and tonal range on the low end, as the AC power could provide more than enough push, but I guess the speakers are just too small.

Since the base is small, the speakers are pretty easy to tip over when you touch them or turn the power on. This is not a good design. Placing the speaker on its side, I can position them in front of my monitor without blocking the screen. If these were USB powered, the output level would not be an issue, but for an AC powered system, I expected more. The relatively low cost is a plus, but overall these speakers are just average.

5 Stars Great speakers for the price
I bought these Logitech speakers to use with my MP3 player in my room. I didn’t expect much in the way of performance, but they do a really good job for what I’m using them for.

Of course, they don’t have a great amount of bass, but the sound reproduction is really crisp and clear.

I’m impressed and satisfied with my purchase.

I have a renovated XP that had speakers no longer working. These little Logitech S120 speakers made my XP useful again. Logitech has always been a top brand and they came through with flying colors.

5 Stars excellent choice for office or cubicle
You cant expect great sound to fill your living room at this price. But if your expectations are met by the price you pay. You get a great product.

I added these speakers for my office computer. As any office desktop, my pc comes with a tiny speaker somewhere inside that you can barely hear at top volume. I did not wanted to shell out a lot money for office speakers so I ordered these.

The first thing you must know is that this speakers have their own power supply, all you have to do is plug its ac power cord to your wall outlet. right there it is a plus. I bought some office speakers a long time ago, that came without their own power supply, I had to run at lunch to buy an off the shell ac power adaptor.

The volume is perfect for your office or cubicle. It fills it with loud sound. Music is ok, dont expect a lot of bass.

I think for this price you cant go wrong, if you know what to expect.
