I bought this card to be used in a cell phone. I tried it in the cell phone, my blackberry, a Canon camera, and my PC’s card reader, but none of them would recognize it as a viable drive. It was D.O.A. right out of the package. I probably got one of the small percentage of these devices that are produced with a defect, but I have had good luck with SanDisk so I will return this Kingston card and reorder.

5 Stars Good Value & Great Product
The kingston 4gb. works just as well as the more expensive brands. I use mine in my digital camera, cell phone, and laptop. They are great for pics. and music. I can never have too many. I haven’t have any problems; you just have to format them…not an issue.

5 Stars Works on HTC Fuze
Since most phones now a days except for Sony Ericsson’s use a micro SD card as the expansion slot, this was the best card for the budget. It worked with no hiccups on my new HTC Fuze from at&t. I’ve had it for about a month now and it’s going strong. Never had a write error. Speed seems fine for a pocket PC, although i haven’t compared this to a class 6 memory card.

Bottom line: Good amount of memory for the price.

2 Stars Disk crashed
When downloading videos from this disk to my computer, the disk crashed. It lost its partition information. Fortunately, my son was able to go beneath the partition level and rescue my videos. I don’t know if the crash was the fault of the disk, or the USB transfer device I was using. The camera was not involved in the transfer. The crash is a serious – even fatal error, but I am not sure that it was the fault of the SanDisk.

Like the other Transcend SDHC cards I have, this one works also nicely (performance and reliable). The card reader is a good add on with the 90 degrees slot for the card.

5 Stars Well worth the money
I bought this because I thought it was a card reader WITH an 8GB card and imagine my surprise when I opened the box and saw it was an 8GB card WITH a reader. (Just kidding).

But I did buy this for the reader part. My old 12 in 1 reader was no good with the SDHC cards and the replacement I bought for that didn’t support SDHC either, so back to the store there.

I’ve seen some of the tests people made and I can confirm that the sustained write speed is about 10MB/s (for a 3 GB file)

You really cannot complain with this deal. For those with reader issues, (I don’t), this reader and card are sealed in the same plastic case. If your items are separate, then beware.

One thing that did strike me (maybe this is the same for all higher capacity cards (8GB+) is that the card is somewhat thicker than my 4GB SanDisk cards. I don’t think this is a huge problem, but you might find the card slightly “sticky” to get in and out of your portable devices. Fingernails helpful…

4 Stars Fast read/write, Good combo offer
Bought this as i would get the SD card + reader, i initially bought this for my Nikon D40, which does support SDHC perfectly well.

The read & write speeds are really fast, and pretty much up to the mark.I am not an expert, and hence havent measured the exact read/write speeds, but can definitely tell that its up to the mark!.

After doing a little bit of reasearching, i found the price of buying this combo is almost approx the cost of buying the SD card alone, so if your planning to get the SD card only, rethink if you could shell in a couple more bucks to grab the reader as well.

And yeah definitely double check to see if you are getting this for your digital camera/slr that its compatible with the SDHC type.

Works great! My only minor complaint is the access speed when taking pics on my camcorder but this is very minor.

Its speed is average — neither slow nor fast. The ability to install and launch right out of the flash drive with the U3 Launchpad is a huge plus. I had purchased a 4GB flash drive from the same manufacturer three years ago — it looks identical except the 4GB drive cost me $120 at the time!!

Reliability is great, speed is good for the price $28, handled numerous files in the gb range. Case feels a bit flimsy and the slide out feature doesn’t always lock, sometimes it need coaxing to lock. I figured this out after about two weeks.

2 Stars A bummer but not the products fault.
I am a mac user and I got a thumb drive ages ago that finally died on me… it was a Sandisk Cruzer so when I found this one on Amazon and read through the listing it looked like a great buy. I was wrong, it was not compatible with my computer. I just gave it to my boyfriend and he seems pretty pleased with it. I have no problem with the product but I would just say make sure to do a little more research than I did before you buy this.
